Rep. Nancy Mace (SC-01) released the following statement on voting for the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA):

"Last night, the House passed the annual Defense funding bill. Included were a number of important provisions for our troops serving domestically and abroad. The impact of the NDAA affects thousands of active duty military throughout the Lowcountry,"said Congresswoman Mace.

"This includes a 2.7% pay increase for all service members next year, expanded free speech protections for troops on social media, and demands the Administration accounts for everyone left behind in Afghanistan.

"Additionally, both of my amendments made in order were also passed by the full House.

"While the legislation is not perfect and there are some problematic provisions that will be worked out in Conference, I am 100 percent committed to putting our troops first and making sure they have the best resources made available to them."
